Tembea Na Mimi, meaning “Walk With Me” in Swahili, is a biennial fundraising walk across Kenya’s Rift Valley to Lalmba’s project in Matoso, Kenya, on the shores of Lake Victoria. This 10-day, 150-180 mile journey is undertaken by a team of adventurers committed to supporting Lalmba’s mission in Kenya and Ethiopia.
Each walker is dedicated to raising critical funds that provide medical care, support at-risk children, and empower rural communities in need.
By sponsoring a walker, you’re joining them in making a tangible difference.

Our walkers can’t do this alone—they need your support! Here’s how you can get involved:
We have 12 amazing walkers joining the Tembea Na Mimi 2025 walk.
Since our first walk in 2015, we’ve covered over 800 miles and raised more than $636,000 to support Lalmba’s vital work in Africa. That’s an incredible $795 for every mile trekked! Every step taken and every dollar raised have been instrumental in helping children access education, empowering rural communities, restoring health to the sick, and bringing dignity to elders. Your participation continues this impactful legacy.
This June, a dedicated team of adventurers will take on the journey of a lifetime, walking across Kenya’s breathtaking landscapes to raise funds for Lalmba’s life-changing programs. Every walker has committed to covering their own travel expenses and setting a personal fundraising goal of at least $10,000 to directly support Lalmba’s mission.
The funds raised will make a tangible difference, sustaining medical care, supporting at-risk children, and through empowerment programs for some of the most underserved communities in Kenya and Ethiopia. From clinics providing lifesaving care to programs that uplift children and families, your support will ensure these efforts continue to thrive.
The exact route is still to be determined, but like past walks we plan to journey across the Masai Mara and rural Kenya to Lalmba’s clinic on the shores of Lake Victoria. Along the way we walk with majestic wildlife, see small farming communities and towns, and experience all that Kenya has to offer. Then, as we approach the magical end of our trek at Lalmba’s Matoso clinic, surrounded by smiling faces and a chorus of gratitude, it becomes apparent that this is more than just a walk. It’s a celebration of hope, strength, and the extraordinary impact we can have when we walk together.
You can be part of this impactful legacy. By sponsoring a walker, you’ll not only help them reach their fundraising goal but also join a mission that brings health, opportunity, and dignity to those who need it most.
